Raw material form :
The dehydrated onion is prepared from clean sound bulbs of suitable varieties of onion (Allium cepa Linn).
Dehydrated form :
Kibbled onion, Minced onion, Onion grits, Onion powder, Onion slices or rings.
Colour :
The dehydrated onion is having colour characteristic of the variety processed (Red, White, Yellow).
Flavour :
The dehydrated onion is having a marked pungent flavour characteristic of the variety used. It is free from off flavours, foreign odour, rancidity and mustiness.
Impurity or contamination :
The dehydrated onion is free from living insects and moulds, and practically free from dead insects, insect fragments and rodent contamination.

NOTE -When anticaking agent is present in dehydrated onion, the maximum limit for acidinsoluble ash, percent by mass shall be 2.5.

Packaging :
Inner Packing: Aluminum Foil Bag or poly-bags.
Outerpacking: cartons.
Storage :
Store in cool and dry place, with the shelf life of 360 days.
